DESCRIPTION
Embark on a cosmic odyssey with astrophysicists from Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics (MPIK) and the H.E.S.S. collaboration as they unravel some of the mysteries of the microquasar SS 433 in the Milky Way.

For the first time, they were able to use gamma-ray observations to trace the energetic electron population and locate the site of particle acceleration. 

For us, finding and producing visuals that capture the scientific complexity of microquasar phenomena was a great journey: We faced the challenge of understanding fascinating scientific findings and translating them into pictures. This process is what keeps us going – it is great to design visuals that are hidden in complex data and results. We collaborated closely with H.E.S.S. scientists to produce this animation that helps people see and understand the fascinating beauty of the complex shock region or the accelerated electrons within the microquasar jets.
